LONDON, November 1, 2010 – Translations.com, the world’s largest privately held provider of language services and translation-related technologies, today announced its certification to EN 15038:2006. Established by the European Committee for Standardisation (CEN) in 2006, EN 15038 is the leading international quality standard for the translation industry.
In order to receive certification, Translations.com’s European production hub, located in Barcelona, was audited by TÜV SÜD, an internationally recognised, independent certifying organisation. TÜV SÜD assessed Translations.com on a variety of factors, including linguist qualifications, translation processes and vendor-client communication procedures. Translations.com’s quality management system is also certified to ISO 9001, a rigorous international quality assurance standard that can apply to all types of businesses.
Translations.com Co-CEO Phil Shawe notes, “Translations.com has always been committed to providing our clients with superior quality and client service. Becoming certified to EN 15038 is an important step in helping us ensure continuous improvement of our internal processes and workflows.”
According to Markus Kukla, lead auditor at TÜV SÜD, “Translations.com ranks among the top translation service providers we have audited. After conducting a thorough audit of the company’s Barcelona production centre, it is without hesitation that we award them certification to EN 15038:2006.”
